| Captain's & Lady Captain's Charity fund |
The fundraising for the Captain and Lady Captain's has now begun for the 2010 season.
The Captain's charity is Brake, the road safety charity, caring for the people whose lives have been devastated by the death of a loved one or a serious injury in the family following a road crash or other similar sudden disaster must be given the chance to recover through good levels of emotional support and practical help. It is common for victims of road crashes to be the forgotten victims, with very little help provided for them.

The Lady Captain's charity will be the Parkinson's charity.
Along with the usual LHGC Charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind.

| LHGC's Daily Mail Competitions |
The Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic is an amateur club knockout competition which began in 1993. To date over 200,000 golfers have taken part in the free to enter team knockout competition, with over 3,000 clubs entering each year. Running competitions for both Gents & Ladies in a 5 person teams in singles matchplay, along with and a pairs Foursomes knockout competition.
The Gents Team of Darren Pearson, Jack Rollinson, Roy Smith, Danny Brown & Dave Wright won their second round match 3-2 against Low Laithes Golf Club on Sunday 14th March. The next round was away against Normaton Golf Club, the team lost 5-0.
In the Daily Mail Foursomes competition, Roy Smith & Jack Rollinson represent the Gents. They have beaten Cookridge Hall GC, Cleackheaton GC and City of Wakefield GC. Round 4 opponents will be announced on Tuesday 1st July.

| Tigers Team off to a flyer |
The team have got off to a to very fast start in teh Tigers, 8-15 Hcp League, winning all their first four matches. Away at Scalm Park and Roundhay Park and home wins against Mid Yorkshire GC and Middleton Park GC. Keep it up.

The team have got off to an excellent start, winning all games in their first match against City of Wakefield Golf Club, 9-0.

Committee news
After a poor turnout on the evening of Sponsors' Day, the Committee have agreed that presentations from now onward, the Club will run a NO SHOW, NO PRIZE policy.

Announcements
New stroke indexes have now been introduced on holes 2, 6, 8 & 9.
The Sunday Clutch each Sunday afternoon in being attended less and less each week. Most weeks only 9 or 10 players are turning up. We may look at running this fun competition on a once per month basis unless attendances improve.

Event news
Captain's Away Day will take place on Thursday 26th August at Wetherby Golf Club. Please add you name onto the list on the Club notice board if you would like to attend. Deposits due by Sunday 1st August with the balance due by Sun 21st August.
Ladies Open Day will take place on Wed 4th August, See the Ladies team page for your tee times.
Seniors Away Day has been booked at Wooley Park Golf Club and will take place on Wed 8th September. A notice will be posted on the Senior's Section notice board. Cost £33 plus £4 toward prizes and twos club.
